Setting Up A Personal Web Server On A Mac

Step 1: Open System Preferences from the Dock.

Step 2: Under the Internet & Network, Click the Sharing icon.

Step 3: Click the check box next to Personal/Web Sharing
This will configure your computer, creating its own web server with a specified web address.

When on another computer you need this web address to access files on your web sever.

Step 4: To uploading files onto your web sever you simply drag and drop into your Sites folder this would be located under Users/Home/Sites.

You can also secure your web sever by clicking the Firewall tab next to Services.
Click the Personal/Web Sharing option.
Click the start button above to turn on the Firewall
